Description: Newspaper stamp for area of Croatia-Slavonia military frontier (Kroatien-Slawonien Militärgrenze). The oldest and rarest stamp of Croatia. Stamp printed in Hungary and very similar to other newspaper stamps for area of Hungarian part of monarchy, but this stamp in the background have also a image of Austrian eagle. Military frontier used mail system under jurisdiction of Hungarian part of monarchy, but was under direct military administration of Vienna. Overprinted with newspapers text, which means that it really were on newspaper. It is assumed that exist around twenty of this stamps in world. Alongside of this stamp, one is with text of german newspaper, and others are without it. MNH stamp was 2011 offered on auction Rauch in Vienna with starting price of 10 000€. Big rarity for this area. As far as it is known the only one in Croatia.
It can not be find in museums or archives. Margin is on three side in luxury quality, but right margine is cut sideway and have entered in lower corner of image. Photo certificate Puschmann.
